With a fully hot-forged construction, the HotWire Quickdraw features a keylock Nitron biner on top for snag-free cleaning, and a wiregate HotWire carabiner on bottom for fast, super-smooth clipping.
DESCRIPTION
We connected a hot-forged Nitron straight-gate biner and a hot-forged HotWire carabiner to create the light, versatile and smooth clipping Black Diamond HotWire Quickdraw. The snag-free keylock Nitron takes the hassle out of cleaning routes, and the HotWire's large rope-bearing surface and flat gate-to-rope interface make for smooth clipping in any climbing application. The light, durable 14 mm (.5 in) Dynex™ dogbone also features a Straitjacket™ insert to keep the bottom biner in the optimal clipping position.

HOT FORGING VS. COLD FORGING
We use two different forging methods to build carabiners—hot and cold forging. Each has its benefits and using both allows us to achieve the best possible shape, size and strength for each carabiner’s intended use. HOT FORGING, a process where both the rod stock and forge dies are heated, allows us to “move” the metal, creating more intricate shapes, such as our GridLock and Oz biners.
